Halo Infinite Multiplayer Beta – 343 Industries Looking at Battle Pass Progression

Despite a fairly successful release, the beta has faced complaints regarding no post-match XP, low XP gains from challenges and so on.

343 Industries surprised Halo fans when it dropped the Halo Infinite multiplayer beta on November 15th to celebrate the franchise’s 20th anniversary. Thus far, the reception towards the gameplay has been fairly positive but the progression is lacking. Not only do players not earn any XP from completing matches, regardless of how amazing their performance was, but XP is only earned from completing challenges.

So unless you fulfill certain requirements (which can be tough if you don’t get a certain weapon or mode), you get no XP. And if you do, the amount doled out is fairly low, meaning you’ll be leveling the Battle Pass at a fairly slow rate. 343 Industries is seemingly aware of the issues – community director Brian Jarrard tweeted that the team was “looking” at progression.

“Thank you to everyone who has jumped into the #HaloInfinite beta so far! FYI the team is looking at Battle Pass progression and gathering data from yesterday’s sessions and we’ll share updates as we have them. Please continue to share feedback and raise flags as you see them.” Jarrard also asked players to report any bugs and issues to Halo Support.

Halo Infinite’s multiplayer beta is currently free to play on Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S and PC. The campaign is still slated to launch on December 8th, and will be included with Xbox Game Pass. Stay tuned for more details in the meantime.
