Ubisoft has a lot of games in development that have hit lulls in their production, and even with so many upcoming titles having been officially announced by the company, there isn’t much clarity right now on what the immediate and medium-term future looks like where Ubisoft’s output is concerned. It seems, however, that Ubisoft is soon planning to change that.

As per a report published on Xfire by known insider Tom Henderson, Ubisoft is planning “a big games showcase event.” The showcase has apparently been in the works for a while, and was meant to air before this year’s E3, but had to be delayed due to recent world events, i.e. the Russia-Ukraine conflict.

According to Henderson, Ubisoft has as many as 20 games lined up for announcements, reveals, and updates, that are all going to happen in “the near future”- though whether they happen as part of this big showcase, whenever it takes place, or elsewhere remains to be seen.

What exactly is included in these 20 games? Henderson has mentioned several games in his report. Where new, as yet-announced games are concerned, he mentions the likes of Assassin’s Creed Rifta new 2.5D Prince of Persia game inspired by Ori, an Immortals Fenyx Rising sequel, and The Crew 3.

Other titles include several that have previously been announced, such as Skull and Bones, which recently announced an insider program, and according to Henderson, “finally understands” what kind of games it wants to be. Another game likely to show up is Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, which Henderson claims has started external QA testing and is on track for its scheduled release, which is before April 2023.

Free-to-play title The Division Heartlandwhich is also expected to launch before April 2023, could also be at this supposed big Ubisoft showcase, as could Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope, development on which is progressing well, according to Henderson, with a 2022 launch still looking likely, contrary to recent rumours.

Henderson also brings up XDefiant, which also recently announced an insider program. The free-to-play first person shooter is allegedly “still a while away from release” and is expected launch either in late 2022 or early 2023.

These are all, of course, unconfirmed reports, so until we hear something official from Ubisoft, take this with a grain of salt, even though Henderson has a solid track record. We’ll keep an eye out for new details though, so stay tuned for more updates.
