In its financial results for Q1 FY 2022, CD Projekt Group CEO Adam Kiciński provided some updates on the next Witcher game’s development. It’s developed on Unreal Engine 5 as part of a strategic partnership with Epic Games and so far, CD Projekt says it’s very happy with the project. Improvements are already being seen in development efficiency and initial research is now complete.
The next Witcher game is now in pre-production with more than 100 developers involved, though it may be a while before a release window is formally announced. For Cyberpunk 2077, the majority of CD Projekt RED’s team is working on the first expansion (which recently had some story leaks). Marketing is expected to begin for this in the second half of 2022, which is around the time the anime, Cyberpunk Edgerunners, is expected to air.
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – Complete Edition is slated to release in Q4 2022 for Xbox Series X/S and PS5 after multiple delays. Details are yet to be revealed on its visual improvements so stay tuned in the coming months.
