Rockstar Games is about a week away from revealing an Extended Look at Grand Theft Auto 6 – an occasion so grand that it’s exclusive on Netflix for the first several hours. However, it seems footage from the open-world title has begun leaking, as reported by VGC.
While it could always be fake – there’s been more than enough of that going around – Rockstar has begun issuing takedowns for the same, thus confirming their legitimacy. A group called Cyberleek is apparently responsible to protest the title’s digital-only status (physical copies contain a download code in the box instead of a disc).
If that wasn’t enough, reputed insider NateTheHate claimed on ResetEra that the leaked footage is “over a year old.” This wouldn’t be the first time Rockstar has suffered such leaks, whether it’s the reveal trailer’s snippets appearing days before the premiere or the infamous alpha leak from September 2022.
Grand Theft Auto 6 launches on November 19th for Xbox Series X/S and PS5. Its Extended Look premieres on Netflix first on August 27th at 3 PM ET, and drops on YouTube and the game’s official site at 9 PM ET. In a recent interview, Take-Two Interactive CEO Strauss Zelnick described it as “one of the hors d’oeuvres” of marketing, perhaps teasing that even more gameplay is on the way. Stay tuned for updates, as always, when it premieres.
