Dead Island 2 Trailer Introduces Carla, the Fifth Slayer

Possessing a love for adrenaline, Carla gains a Damage boost when near multiple zombies and extra Toughness at low health.

Dambuster Studios’ Dead Island 2 has received a new trailer focusing on another playable Slayer. A mechanic by trade, Carla lives for adrenaline and possesses excellent physical stamina. Check out some of her Innate Skills below.

When Carla’s health is critical, Dig Deep provides a moderate boost to Toughness. Mosh Pitt grants a small Damage boost when near multiple zombies. Her playstyle is thus about jumping into a crowd of the undead, but it can also work with close-range firearms like shotguns and whatnot.

Carla is the fifth Slayer showcased thus far, with previous trailers introducing Ryan, Dani, Jacob and Amy, so there’s one more left. Don’t let the Innate Skills fool you, as the Skill Deck system provides tons of flexibility for customizing characters. You can even change Skills mid-air, as per lead narrative designer Khan.

Dead Island 2 releases on April 28th for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, PC, and Xbox One. Check out the latest gameplay here, which showcases the game’s FLESH System and procedural gore.
