Destiny 2 Solstice of Heroes Gear Will Have Armor 2.0 Version With Shadowkeep

Your hard-earned Solstice gear won't immediately be discarded when Shadowkeep arrives.

Destiny 2 Solstice of Heroes

Destiny 2’s Solstice of Heroes event starts next week and will see players taking Uncommon “Drained” armour and refurbishing it to full “Majestic” status. There’s a significant grind involved in upgrading and Masterworking each armour piece though. That’s not to mention the fact that the next big expansion Shadowkeep launches in September, potentially rendering the Solstice armour obsolete.

However, it seems Bungie has found a solution for the same. In its Solstice of Heroes blog post, it noted that the event armour will be the first Armor 2.0 set made available. Once Shadowkeep arrives, you can claim the Armor 2.0 version from the Gunsmith. This only applies for the classes you’ve unlocked sets for during Solstice of Heroes.

Though it seems more of an incentive to draw players to the event as opposed to skipping the grind and waiting for Shadowkeep, it’s still a good way to keep the Solstice armour relevant for a longer time. Solstice of Heroes begins on July 30th and ends on August 27th. Meanwhile, Destiny 2: Shadowkeep will launch on September 17th for Xbox One, PS4, and PC.
