A controversial announcement at BlizzCon 2018 and several years of development later, it seems that Diablo Immortal may finally be ready to release on Android and iOS. The official Twitter account teased an announcement for today at 7:30 AM ET on YouTube but no further details were provided. According to Bloomberg’s Jason Schreier though, a release date will be announced.
According to Schreier, the announcement will happen at “the same time as Activision Blizzard’s quarterly earnings report.” This won’t be the end of mobile titles based on major Blizzard franchises though as the company is reportedly set to announce one of its Warcraft mobile games in the coming weeks. Activision previously stated that a Warcraft mobile title would release this year so it could be the same game.
As for Diablo Immortal, it was previously delayed to the first half of 2022. Its last closed alpha saw the addition of eight player Raids against Helliquary Bosses; changes to Bounties; changes to high level Challenge Rifts; and much more, including controller support. Stay tuned for more details on today’s announcement in the coming hours.
