Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth reviews reportedly go live on February 22nd, but before that, demo players can look forward to a free update later today. “Dawn of a New Era” goes live at 4 AM PST/1 PM CET and takes place during the present-day story. Players can explore an open area near Junon with some “content unique” to the demo.

However, you must clear the Nibelheim episode first to access the new content. Those experiencing the demo for the first time can look forward to improvements in the image fidelity of Performance Mode after complaints of blurriness. These improvements will carry over into the game, so their impact should be interesting.

Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth launches on February 29th for PS5 as a three-month timed exclusive for the console. Head here for some new details before picking it up. As for the third and final title in the series, director Naoki Hamaguchi confirms that progress has been made on the script.
