Horizon Online Game Features New Cast of Characters, “Unique Stylized Look”

"We are continuing to create epic solo adventures for Aloy," said Guerrilla Games, and is hiring for its single-player team, along with other positions.

Guerrilla Games has confirmed that an online title set in the world of Horizon Zero Dawn and Forbidden West is in development. This is after rumors of an MMORPG in development at NCSoft and various job listings emerging today that indicated the same.

In a new tweet, the developer revealed that a “new internal team” was working on a separate online project in the same universe. It features a “new cast of characters” and a “unique stylized look” with the promise that “friends will be able to explore the majestic wilds of Horizon together.”

Of course, this doesn’t mean single-player titles are off the table, with Guerrilla outright stating, “We are continuing to create epic solo adventures for Aloy.” It already announced Horizon Forbidden West: Burning Shores, an expansion exclusive to PS5 launching on April 19th, 2023. Firesprite Studios is also working on Horizon Call of the Mountain, a VR title launching on February 22nd, 2023, for PlayStation VR2.

There could be even more down the line as the studio is hiring for its single-player team, along with the online and external project teams. As always, stay tuned for more updates and announcements in the future.
