Life is Strange Crosses 20 Million Players

Life is Strange

Square Enix’s first entry in the Life is Strange series has crossed 20 million players. It launched in 2015 with its first episode, Chrysalis, and is available across multiple console generations. A remaster is also available for Xbox One, PS4, Nintendo Switch, and PC as part of the Life is Strange Remastered Collection.

Developed by DON’T NOD, the first game centers on Max Caulfield, a photography student at Blackwell Academy in Arcadia Bay. After witnessing the murder of her best friend, Chloe Price, she suddenly gains the power to rewind time. Saving Chloe and reuniting with her leads to a long journey with enormous consequences.

Life is Strange received extensive acclaim when it launched for its story-telling, presentation and writing. You can read our review for all five episodes here. A prequel, Life is Strange: Before the Storm, launched in 2017, followed by a sequel with a new cast in 2018.

The latest title is Life is Strange: True Colors, which launched in 2021 and focuses on Alex Chen, who can experience others’ emotions. Check out our review of it here.
