Monster Hunter World Iceborne

Monster Hunter World recently producer Ryozo Tsujimoto unveiled quite the smattering of content updates for the future. Arch-Tempered Kulve Taroth is coming next week. Arch-Tempered Nergigante and a collaboration quest with The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt are due in Spring 2019. As if that wasn’t enough, a full-blown expansion will arrive in Autumn 2019 with Iceborne.

Many details are still under wraps, but we do know that the expansion will have a new quest rank, new monsters (with series favourite Nargacuga hinted at), new gear, and a new map. As if stirring the pot further, Capcom UK community manager Socks said in a tweet that, “Monster Hunter: World – Iceborne will be an expansion likened to size of a ‘G’ or ‘Ultimate’ version.”

For the uninitiated, that means a lot of additional content is inbound. One look at Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate should tell you everything about how the development team tends to handle these things. What about G-Rank though? Interestingly, one user noticed Socks’ use of the word “G” and asked if G-Rank was low-key hinted at. Socks’ responded, “I ain’t being low key!”

He further stated that “a whole bunch of awesome news” about the expansion including its price would be coming in Spring 2019. In the meantime, those who haven’t played the game on consoles can avail of the limited free trial that goes live tomorrow.
