I felt a great disturbance in the Force, as though millions of fans cried out in terror, and were suddenly silenced.

In spite of posting a video to celebrate the two year anniversary of The Last of Us Part 2’s announcement at PSX 2016 recently, it seems like Naughty Dog and Sony weren’t really hinting at anything.

In response to fan speculation that the video upload, as well as the game being in a Game Awards promotional video, may have indicated an update on the eagerly anticipated upcoming game at The Game Awards — where we know a whole lot of games will be shown off — Naughty Dog confirmed on Twitter that they are not planning on showing the game off at the event this year.

Naughty Dog stated they are hard at work on the game, and look forward to sharing more information on it when they are ready to, which does seem to indicate that we won’t see any more of it for a while now. It’s a shame, but at least we got to see the excellent gameplay demo for it at E3 this year.
