4. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt

There’s a reason CD Projekt RED built up so much goodwill and success over the past decade, and it’s The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. An open-world action RPG wasn’t necessarily new, but the scale of the world, coupled with the incredible presentation, immersed you in Geralt’s world. The side quests (mostly) eschewed fetching items in favor of deep story-telling with moral quandaries and interesting characters, while exploration felt rewarding and full of interesting things to discover. And if that’s not enough, it also offers two incredible expansions with even more incredible quests and regions to explore.
