9. Super Mario Odyssey
Considering all of the 3D adventures that Mario has embarked on, it’s fitting that Super Mario Odyssey is more of a throwback to Super Mario 64. Just pitch-perfect platforming and level design but with great visuals and music. Cappy adds another dimension to all of this, allowing one to jump further and possess different objects and enemies. This isn’t a big leap over what previous titles offered so much as a celebration of Mario, as seen with the retro sections, New Donk City and Mushroom Kingdom. Regardless, it’s a 3D platforming adventure that fans can’t miss.
