26. Batman: Arkham City

If Batman: Arkham Asylum was a revelation for superhero games, then Arkham City was a coup de grace to the argument that they could never be good. Expanding into a large open world brimming with challenges and Riddler Trophies wasn’t enough. It also delivered a compelling original story that spanned a number of classic villains and furthered the relationship between Batman and the Joker. All of this coupled with some of the best beat ’em up combat in history and it’s easy to see why Batman: Arkham City is so well-regarded.
