Xbox Series X

Following the reveal of the Xbox Series X at The Game Awards 2019, there have been various stories about what the back of the console looked like. After some unofficial renders mistakenly showcased by AMD at CES 2020, Brad Sams of Thurott shared an image of the ports. Now it seems he may have been on the money.

Images of what seem to be an Xbox Series X prototype have cropped up online. Along with showcasing various ports like HDMI, two USB-A and an optical audio port, it also had a small lock (which seems to indicate that the back can be opened up). Hilariously, another user on Twitter used that serial number to register the console on his account to confirm that it is, indeed, legit.

Plans could change if this is a prototype but given how closely it matches the current console’s look, it seems unlikely. Sams also recently confirmed the images are real so there’s that. We’ll likely learn more in the coming months as E3 2020 nears so stay tuned. The Xbox Series X is out in holiday 2020.
