Death’s Door

What makes Death’s Door so compelling isn’t just the implication that Death exists, and is actually trapped behind the titular Death’s Door. Rather, it’s the whole story surrounding how Lord of Doors went back on the arrangement to obtain immortality. Even after his defeat, if the player obtains all of the Tablets of Knowledge, it’s revealed that the Crows were actually following the Truth, the true final boss of Titan Souls (Acid Nerve’s previous title), thus revealing Death’s Door to actually be a sequel. What happens to the player character and where the story goes from here is unknown but this was a great tie-in that expanded the universe.
