12. Monster Hunter World
Love it, hate it, begrudgingly accept it – whatever your stance, it’s impossible to ignore Monster Hunter’s brilliance, and World is one of the best. It’s all so simple – slaying monsters, carving them for materials, crafting better gear and weapons, and slaying tougher monsters. Yet Monster Hunter World makes it all so addictive with great combat mechanics spread across numerous weapons that take time to fully master. There’s plenty I can praise – and flame – Monster Hunter World for, but if you’re looking to get into the franchise for the first time, it’s worth jumping in.
