While serving as a prequel to the mainline series, Gears of War: E-Day promises to “shape the future” of the franchise, as The Coalition describes. Chronicling the story of Marcus Fenix and Dominic Santiago at the start of the Locust’s assault on Sera, it promises a return to linear story-telling and the franchise’s horror roots.
