Update: The Outer Worlds will have a physical release for Xbox One and PS4, not PC. PC players can still pick it up digitally though.

Original Story:

Obsidian Entertainment’s The Outer Worlds is the cover story for Game Informer’s March issue, and so new details will be available in the coming weeks. One thing we know for sure already, though, is that it won’t be a budget release. Publisher Private Division has announced that The Outer Worlds will retail for $60. It will also be available at physical retail for all platforms that it’s releasing on.

The sci-fi, first person RPG has already garnered a lot of attention due to the developer’s pedigree with Fallout: New Vegas. Players will create their own character and unlock a ship for fast-traveling to different places. Various NPCs can be encountered, and some can even be recruited as companions, bringing their own skills and attacks.

As is the case with Obsidian’s past titles (Pillars of Eternity and Tyranny also come to mind), players will be able to make decisions that can change the story. How you react to certain characters will also dictate how you’re perceived by others in the game going forward. So if you want to be a complete psychopath, go for it.

The Outer Worlds is out in 2019 for Xbox One, PS4, and PC.
