Both parties have "amicably resolved" the matter in a "mutually beneficial" fashion.

Very little is known about The Elder Scrolls 6, save for Bethesda teasing its arrival on the next generation of consoles. When a trademark for “Redfall” was registered in September, it was assumed that this would be the next name for the fantasy RPG. Unfortunately, Bethesda Game Studios owner ZeniMax would face opposition from Redfall novel series author Jay Falconer.

Falconer’s publisher BookBreeze took action on his behalf over the trademark. A settlement was being discussed, and the two parties have finally reached an agreement. A statement was released (via Gamasutra) that stated, “ZeniMax Media Inc. and Bookbreeze.com are pleased to announce that they have amicably resolved a pending trademark dispute related to the Redfall trademark.

“While the specific terms of the agreement are confidential, the parties believe that resolution of the matter is mutually beneficial to both ZeniMax and Bookbreeze.com and their respective fans.”

While this doesn’t provide any new details on The Elder Scrolls 6, it certainly lends some credence to Redfall factoring somehow in the title. Don’t expect any new information at E3 2019. Bethesda’s Todd Howard already confirmed that neither The Elder Scrolls 6 nor Starfield would be at the company’s presser.

Bethesda has been busy with other Elder Scrolls properties though – it recently released a new expansion for The Elder Scrolls Online called Elsweyr. Despite controversy surrounding the microtransaction prices of The Elder Scrolls: Blades, the mobile game hit 1 million downloads in its first week of early access.
