Details on Marvel’s Avengers have been coming in slowly and steadily, with new information on things like its gear mechanics, new playable characters, and how they control in combat emerging on a regular basis. Though Avengers is, as per the developers, going to have a strong core of single player gameplay (though not a very long campaign), co-op is also a significant part of the experience.

We have had some details on co-op up until now, but nothing too substantial. Apparently, that will be changing after the Holidays, with Crystal Dynamics gearing up to dish out more details on that aspect of the game as the new year begins.

“Certainly after the Holiday season if I’m not mistaken,” lead designer Philippe Therien told Actu Gaming when asked about when we’ll be seeing new trailers and gameplay for Avengers. “But till then, there will always be teasers that will be published quite often on Twitter or on the studio website. After the Holidays, we will talk about the co-op with a lot of things to unveil.”

Co-op won’t be all the new details will be limited to, in fact. Therien also said that details on post-launch characters and how frequently they will be released will also come after the Holidays.

“After the end of the year Holidays, we will be able to talk about the schedule and the frequency for the characters,” he said. “We try to see what we are able to do to have the best result possible, also to keep people interested.”

Marvel’s Avengers is out on May 15, 2020 for the PS4, Xbox One, PC, and Stadia, so there’s still plenty of time left before then for the developers to share new details on the game. Just recently, in fact, we saw a new overview trailer detailing the game’s story, customization, cosmetics, gear mechanics, progression, and much more. Check it out through here.
