Sources have suggested that a new Splinter Cell game has been greenlit, and the news seems equal parts exciting and concerning.
GamesBeat's Jeff Grubb claims that Ubisoft was testing a new game around E3 that had more than a passing resemblance to Splinter Cell.
The title is currently in an "early phase of production" and sources seem to indicate that it could be developed by a studio outside of Montreal.
A new leak has spilled the beans on an unannounced Ubisoft project. Allegedly early in development, the game is unlikely to be announced at E3.
A tightly-designed, linear approach is the best one for this stealth franchise.
