the last of us part 2

Right at the end of Sony’s recent State of Play presentation, as promised and after a whole lot of teasing, Naughty Dog dropped a new trailer for The Last of Us Part 2, giving us our first look at the game for the first time in over a year. The most notable piece of information to come out of said showing is, of course, the announcement of the game’s final release date- The Last of Us Part 2 is out for the PS4 on February 21, 2020.

An early February release date had been in the rumours for a while not, but getting an official announcement is nonetheless something fans will be very happy about. Even beyond the release date, there’s still plenty to talk about in that trailer though. There’s snippets of gameplay footage in there, showing combat, world traversal, new enemy types and more.

There’s also plenty of story information to glean. The game’s central narrative premise has become clearer now- although those who want to go into the game blind might want to avoid this somewhat spoiler-y trailer. Either way, you can find it below.

This isn’t the last we’ll be seeing of The Last of Us Part 2 in the coming days. Naughty Dog are also holding a media event today, which means we’ll be seeing impressions (and perhaps some gameplay footage) soon. Stay tuned to GamingBolt for all the updates.
