All this talk of 2019’s Resident Evil 2 and how it influenced remakes for years to come (which it did, make no mistake), but what about 2002’s Resident Evil? It was the first remake in the Resident Evil franchise and successfully overhauled its visuals for a stunning experience while enhancing the terrifying atmosphere. It was more than enough to make up for the middling controls and offer one of the best horror remakes decades before others.
