The Xbox and Bethesda Games Showcase is right around the corner, and while we can probably expect a decent chunk of the show to focus on third party titles, given how many major Xbox exclusives Microsoft has in development – both announced and unannounced – it goes without saying that that’s what most of the show will be focused on. Two major upcoming Xbox games, however, probably won’t make it.

Journalist Jeff Grubb said recently during his Giant Bomb show GrubbSnax (which you can view below) that Playground Games’ Fable reboot and The Initiative’s Perfect Dark reboot are both not going to be present at the Xbox-Bethesda event.

According to Grubb, both development teams could have had assets ready to have something to show, but with Microsoft having so much else to show off, the publisher apparently decided to hold off on the two franchise revivals until later and prioritize other projects for now.

Details on the Xbox and Bethesda Games Showcase are scant so far. Reports had previously suggested that it will be roughly 90 minutes long, but according to Microsoft’s Aaron Greenberg, the showcase’s runtime hasn’t been nailed down yet.

As for games that will be appearing at the show, Grubb has previously speculated that the like of Avowed and Contraband could show up, while Starfield remains a big possibility, in spite of its delay into 2023. A Gears of War collection was also recently leaked and could see an announcement, while Ark 2 seems to be part of the show’s lineup as well.

Meanwhile, Obsidian Entertainment’s unannounced investigative RPG Pentiment is looking like a likely announcement, while leaked 4X strategy title Project Indus and the recently-rumoured Minecraft RTS could also be announced.

The showcase goes live on June 12, so we’ll know soon enough. Stay tuned for more updates in the meantime.
