Forspoken

Luminous Productions previously confirmed that Forspoken, its upcoming open world action RPG, would support Microsoft’s DirectStorage on PC. In a new video, it goes into detail about the various technologies being used, which includes AMD FidelityFX. Check it out below.

FidelityFX is used in both PC and PS5 with features like Ambient Occlusion, Screen Space Reflections, Variable Shading and a Denoiser. There’s also Super Resolution 1.0 with Quality and Native 4K settings compared. As for DirectStorage, it helps cut down loading times to 1.9 seconds on an M.2 SSD in one scene. This same scene takes 3.7 seconds to load on a SATA SSD and 21.5 seconds on a regular HDD.

Forspoken is out on October 11th after being delayed from its original May release date. Plenty of new details have been revealed in the past month though including the different kinds of spells, the Avoalet Realm, a mini-boss fight and much more. Stay tuned for more details in the meantime.
