The Metal Gear franchise continues to enjoy consistent sales, with Konami confirming another crossed sales milestone.
Metal Gear Solid 3 on Steam also gets an Additional Settings menu with audio and screen options, mouse sensitivity and more.
But it's looking increasingly likely that there will be another Metal Gear Solid collection in the not-too-distant future.
A date for the presentation wasn't revealed, though Konami recently provided plenty of other updates on the series' future.
Konami is also investigating the "inadequate" upscaling method used for the collection and will update when a solution is available.
Metal Gear Solid 2 and 3 are now finally compatible with the Steam Deck thanks to the latest update.
The update adds smoothing, a scanline filter, and screen options for Metal Gear Solid 1, including 16:9 (which isn't widescreen).
The update goes live in early January 2024, adding new screen features like a 16:9 presentation and a scanline filter for MGS1.
Ver.1.3.1 also fixes minor issues and makes "additional adjustments" to the Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series X/S and PS4 versions.
Konami is also investigating issues like Trophies for Metal Gear 1 and 2 and Metal Gear Solid 2 and 3 not unlocking on PS4.
Meanwhile, Super Mario Bros. Wonder is still on top of the charts, having sold an additional 163,000 copies.
Konami is revisiting the franchise with a new series featuring Snake's voice actor, David Hayter, taking us through iconic moments.
The references could indicate that Konami is working on Master Collection Vol. 2 with the other mainline games in the series.
Konami's compilation includes Metal Gear Solid, Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty and Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, with bonus content.
Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 1 is set to release on October 24 for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch.
Konami has revealed that the issues are largely minor, like subtitles not syncing up and a slow down in some cutscenes.
An Easter egg from the original PlayStation One release of Metal Gear Solid carries over to the Master Collection in a new way.
The PS4 version launches on the same day as Xbox Series X/S, PS5, PC and Nintendo Switch and targets a 1080p resolution at 60 FPS.
The Nintendo Switch version of the collection targets 1080p/30 FPS when docked while targeting 720p/30 FPS in handheld mode.
While Konami won't be changing any potentially controversial scenes from Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 1, every game will have a content warning at the start.
The collection will launch for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, and PC on October 24.
Konami will detail its release date and price later. The PS4 version will be digital-only, unlike on Xbox Series X/S, PS5 and Nintendo Switch.
Konami confirms that the performance and resolution of both titles will match the HD Collection, though they run at 30 FPS on Nintendo Switch.
The series has collectively generated over $1 billion in revenue for Konami, the publisher confirms.
The upcoming collection's ESRB rating also mentions a PlayStation 4 version, which has yet to be officially announced.
However, the Nintendo Switch physical release of the collection will still require you to download data for usage.
Placeholder buttons for the three titles, potentially leading to future pages for Vol. 2, have been discovered on Konami's site.
The compilation will release for Xbox Series X/S, PS5, PC, and Nintendo Switch, with pre-orders live. A new trailer is also available.
The website for Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection lists Vol. 1's three games and a "?" followed by "Stay tuned for more information."
For Metal Gear Solid 2 and 3, Konami will be using their HD Collection versions from 2011.
Out this Autumn, the collection includes Metal Gear Solid, Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty and Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater.
The collection will allegedly be multiplatform and include remastered versions of the first three Metal Gear Solid games.
The remasters will allegedly be purchasable separately and individually, and are said to be launching for PC and consoles.
