Square Enix – Final Fantasy 13
It’s hard not to look back and question Final Fantasy 13. We’re not talking in terms of the development, which started in 2004 for the PlayStation 2 before heading to the PS3 in 2005. Or how the game was originally part of the Fabula Nova Crystallis (of which Final Fantasy Versus 13 was a part of before becoming Final Fantasy 15), or even how it went multi-platform. Instead, why was the game so insultingly linear? Why was the story so nonsensical and filled with characters that committed inane actions? The financial success of Final Fantasy 13 would result in two more sequels, each with diminished success, but at that point, it was clear that the once beloved RPG series had hit a low point.
