NieR: Automata
Enough has been said about the storyline, characterization and sheer detail of NieR: Automata. But the combat also deserves praise, combining the best aspects of PlatinumGames’ style (like Witch Time) with an excellent array of weapons and styles. Each character, from 2B and 9S to A2, has their own unique gimmicks and various set pieces provide great ways to utilize them. It’s also great how one can customize their chip layout, opting for a crazy self-healing build or squeezing every last bit of damage in by removing the HUD and whatnot.
