The “Optimized for Xbox Series X” badge is something Microsoft have been talking up of late. Essentially, if a game wears this badge, it means it has – as the wording suggests – been optimized to take as much advantage as possible of the Xbox Series X as possible, which reduced loading, or enhanced visuals, or ray-tracing support, or improved frame rates- or a combination of any of the above. And in a recent update talking about this badge and what this means, Microsoft have revealed the full list of all games that are currently optimized for the Xbox Series X.

We’ve already heard plenty about many of the games mentioned on this list, and how they will leverage the Xbox Series X’s hardware. For instance, DiRT 5 will run at 4K and 60 FPS, even targeting upto 120 FPS. Destiny 2 also promises 4K and 60 FPS. So, too, does Scorn. Marvel’s Avengers is touting enhanced performance and resolutions with its next-gen upgrades.

The Coalition have talked about the work they have done on Gears 5’s improvementsThe Medium is promising support for 4K and ray-tracing. And of course, Halo Infinite, as a flagship first party launch title for the console, will obviously want to show off what the hardware is capable of.

Some are a little tricky. There’s Cyberpunk 2077, but there are not enough finer details on the game’s next-gen versions right now, which are due to arrive in 2021Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is also mentioned, and though 4K resolution has been confirmed for the game, so far, Ubisoft have only committed to a 30 FPS frame rate, which seems disappointing to many.

Meanwhile, there are plenty of other notable names on the list as well, including the likes of Yakuza: Like a Dragon, FIFA 21, Madden NFL 21, Marvel’s Avengers, Outriders, Hitman 3, and many more. More games will be added to this list in the coming months.
