Crytek's acclaimed horror extraction shooter is evolving, and in its new form, it touts an entirely new map, several technical and visual enhancements, native current-gen support, and more.
Crytek's multiplayer shooter is upgrading to CryEngine 5.11, as a result of which it will no longer be supported on last-gen consoles.
The latest update for Hunt: Showdown also brings with it the new Ash Bloom condition, which involves insects, ash, and poor visibility.
Hunt: Showdown is bringing a new type of boss fights with its newest event—Wild Targets. The first of these is Rotjaw.
The newest update to Hunt: Showdown adds new tutorials to the game, alongside new questlines and activities.
Crytek has been releasing teases that would indicate a new drone-styled piece of equipment in the form of a beetle that scounts an area for its handler for Hunt: Showdown.
Hunt: Showdown is kicking off its new 60-day event. Dubbed Serpent Moon, the event features snake sacrifice, a new Legendary Hunter, and new weapons.
Crytek confirms it's aware of the exploit and is working on a fix, and warns that intentionally abusing it will result in bans.
Hunt: Showdown's update 1.7 offers a framerate of up to 60 fps on both the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S, which is live now.
"It's one of the most important features for us right now," says Crytek.
Crytek is also planning live events and working on a new boss for the future.
The PS4 version will be out this Fall.

The much-requested solo mode will be available until September 6, and brings special rewards for top players.
