Though the compilation's seasonal content model has been dropped, 343 Industries says it will still continue to release updates throughout this year.
The Austin-based studio is "deepening" its relationship with 343 Industries ahead of the launch of Season 2: Lone Wolves on May 3rd.
The new update also adds cross-platform campaign co-op for Halo 3 and Halo 3: ODST, campaign customization for Halo 4, and more.
The Flood will finally be making their way into Firefight, seemingly replacing the Covenant as players attempt to survive.
The new Season launches on May 3rd and includes two new maps - Breaker and Catalyst - along with new modes like Last Spartan Standing.
Ahead of Season 2: Lone Wolves' upcoming launch, 343 Industries has dropped more details on the improvements it'll bring.
A brief leaked description of the mode reads: "Level up your loadout by earning Personal Score to be the last Spartan standing."
"We will have some content that is inspired by the show that will be coming out in the game a little bit further down the road," says 343's Brian Jarrard.
Going live at 11 AM PDT, the "small" patch should also include a fix for Fireteam invites on Xbox along with changes to CTF's Sudden Death rules.
A recent Halo Waypoint blog update details the many improvements coming to the game with the imminent release of the second season this May,
"We're certainly not happy to be unable to meet player and community expectations," says 343 Industries community director Brian Jarrard.
In a recent interview with The Washington Post, 343's multiplayer lead Tom French talked about the shooter's upcoming Season 2 content.
Andrew Witts was at 343 Industries for over three years as Halo Infinite's Lead Multiplayer Modes and Systems Designer.
In spite of delays, however, campaign co-op will still arrive sometime during Season 2, while Forge will still be paired with Season 3.
343 Industries has offered glimpses of some of the new upcoming cosmetics, and two new maps- Arena's Catalyst and BTB's Breaker.
Audio mixing for the campaign and multiplayer has also been improved, making sound effects like enemies throwing grenades louder.
Halo Infinite's upcoming mid-season update will feature multiple improvements to animations and Achievements in the campaign.
The upcoming Halo TV series gets renewed before season one releases next month.
Halo Infinite's Forge mode isn't due out until at least late summer, but recent leaks seem to have spilled the beans on several interesting details.
Scorpion Tanks and Wraiths should also spawn more frequently in BTB while Players in the same Fireteam will have their own Fireteam Marker color.
