The first-person shooter isn't a games-as-a-service title but will receive content post-launch. It's also coming to Game Pass and PS Plus Extra/Premium on day one.
A new trailer for the survival horror title's second expansion showcases the many horrors of the titular Lake House facility.
The retailer's listing for the physical Deluxe Edition has seemingly spoiled the date ahead of Remedy's new look on October 17th.
Played by Janina Gavankar, FBC Agent Kiran Estevez returns for Alan Wake 2's second expansion to dive into the horrors of the titular Lake House.
"I think the version will be a pleasant surprise, but hard to tell these days," says Remedy Entertainment's head of communications, Thomas Puha.
Remedy's Thomas Puha clarifies the developer's agreement with the company following the resignation of Annapurna Interactive's staff.
"We now also have an incredible partner to extend our IPs to other mediums," says the studio behind the two franchises.
"We feel Annapurna is the perfect partner to work with as the game development is moving forward towards production," say Remedy's Mikael Kasurinen and Juha Vainio.
Remedy Entertainment says more than 80 percent of the acclaimed survival horror sequel's budget has been recouped so far.
Control 2's development team has "reached an important milestone in delivering a build of the game showcasing several important features in playable form", Remedy Entertainment says.
"The development team has been working towards developing the game to an early functional state from beginning to end," Remedy says.
The second expansion occurs in an "independent government organization" on the shores of Cauldron Lake, where things go wrong.
It includes the base game, Digital Deluxe Edition items, Expansion Pass and more. The Collector's Edition ships in December for $199.99.
Remedy has also toned down the amount of resource drops doled out in Night Springs Episodes 2 and 3 to "more reasonable levels."
Night Springs may not be essential, but it's still an absolute blast.
The physical release of Alan Wake 2 will need players to download updates and the second DLC separately.
In addition to showcasing the first expansion for Alan Wake 2, Remedy Entertainment has announced physical deluxe and collector's editions, due out this fall.
Alan Wake 2's first of two paid expansions, Night Springs, is scheduled to release at some point in 2024.
Codename Kestrel was cancelled while still in its concept stages after being announced back in November 2023.
However, Remedy Entertainment says the game's sales "have continued with a high average price."
