Game Overview:
The Evil Within 2 is a survival horror video game developed by Tango Gameworks and published by Bethesda.
Players once again play as Sebastian Castellanos, haunted and traumatized by the events of the first game, as circumstances compel him to re-enter STEM, this time into a simulation of an idyllic American town called Union.
Krafton now owns Tango Gameworks and the Hi-Fi Rush IP, but the studio's other properties will remain under Microsoft ownership, it's been confirmed.
Games ranging from Hi-Fi Rush to Ghostwire: Tokyo, and even the older The Evil Within are being bombed with positive reviews.
"Sad," said studio founder Shinji Mikami in a brief post on social media platform X.
Roundhouse Studios and Alpha Dog Studios are also being closed down due to a “reprioritization of titles and resources.”
Mikami's departure was due to wanting more opportunities for young creators and to distance himself from survival horror.
Aftrer a reported email by Bethesda Softworks' Todd Vaughn, the company has confirmed that Mikami will be leaving in the "coming months."
Tango Gameworks' rhythm action title features a very brief and cheeky reference to a "sequel to popular survival horror game franchise".
